Are we a fit?
ARE WE A FIT?
Engaging in your own therapy involves exploring and being curious about your own thoughts, feelings, emotions and sensations in real time as well as outside of the session as they relate to what you're concerned about and what's happening in therapy. If you do not engage in therapy you may not get the results you are hoping for.
Clients that come in prepared to engage in their own therapy and understand that therapy is an investment of their time and money tend to be a better fit with my therapeutic approach. It took you a while to get to this place in your life and it takes a while to change for good what brought you to this point, so you don't return. Symptom relief can be achieved on the way to deeper change but is not a replacement for meaningful change.
So please consider this question: am I prepared to engage in therapy, and am I prepared to invest in myself? If your answers are yes (ideally to both, but at least to the first part) then you may be a fit for me and the way I work.
CHANGE
We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking
we used when we created them.
